Roan Barnett, Straight A’s student
Most of the times, I am wondering if Roan is really my biological son, hehehe.. Did he get switch from the hospital when he was born? I know he is my son, since he looks like me. But, him being SMART and all. I know I am not dumb and so as his Dad. But, it looks like he’s too smart for both of us. He probably takes it from my family? Hahaha, OK, I will say both our families.
Roan is very artistic as well , there are times that if he cannot express his feeling through words, he would draw it. He is a member of Accelerated Reading and Math Group. When I was young, I was never a member of anything Academically. I am not sure about Rodney. I know Rodney is intelligent, he’s a no nonsense guy, so there, you have it…Roan takes it after his Daddy.
I am so proud of my son for getting this Certificate. No matter how cold it is , I would go to the Library to check out books that he can read. Only he’s too lazy to read,it’s Wrozlie , who’s a book lover.
I wish all my kids will do good at school. I was some sort of Top 10 student way back then (in the Province of Nueva Ecija), but I want my kids to achieve more than I did. It’s a nice feeling to have a kid that’s getting an award like this, It’s worth my getting up early, my patiently getting him dressed every morning, and having my big patience on helping him wit his homework..
To you Sweetheart, Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you. Keep up the good work..We love you.
I was looking at my Friendster account just 5 minutes ago and I decided to open a Posted Bulletin by one of my Friendster buddy. The title was Repost. I was curious about it and I opened it. I was shocked!!! It was about Francis Magalona, dying of Luekemia!!!! Then I started googling about him. I had goosebumps while reading some stories about it.
He was diagnosed with Leukemia in August of this year. I can’t imagine how sad he was or his family. These words were his.
“Today, September 25th, 2008 is the day I learned that Cancer isn’t all about death. It’s about LIFE. And today I celebrate and embrace that life.
Today was a day of reckoning. I went to my doctor at her clinic, and from the smile on her face as she entered the room, I knew The Lord, Jesus Christ gave me a reprieve. I knew that someone, somewhere made a prayer, and continues to pray for me, my family and my recovery.
And Jesus heard it. “
He’s so brave. I don’t know if I can say all these if it was me. I like Francis, he’s full of life everytime I see him on Eat Bulaga when I was in the Philippines not long ago.
I guess, Life is full of surprises. To Kiko! I wish that you get well and I am praying for your recovery…

Well, I know, meron pang Halloweeen at Thanksgiving, pero ang Pasko, sus…tumatakbo padating.
Not fair noh!
Simbang Gabi Puto Bumbong
Lagi naman kaming nag eend up sa pansit, sopas at gelatin with matching tasty bread. But, the good thing was, lagi kaming may bagong damit kapag pasko..Yun lang yata ang time na bago damit namin, kasi sa school, naka uniform kami 5 days a week,
Christmas Tree and Holiday Stockings
Presents that I never had way back home.
Noche Buena, and Media Noche

Today after work, my husband is going to Alabama to work on Aircrafts. We were told that he will stay there for at least 6 weeks. or it could be 6 months. He can’t refuse, since it meant promotion for him. He is moving on up.. After a little over 3 years working for Dyncorp, he first got promoted to be a Number 2 (assistant to the Crew Lead) last April, and now, he got promoted to be a Crew Lead and Technical Inspector. It’s good and bad at the same time. Good, in the sense that all his hard work got noticed. Bad, because now that he’s a Crew Lead, he will get sent anywhere he’s needed. ( Gosh, he could be sent to Germany, where he can get per diem of over $250 a day…Come to think of that..Aha!)

What do I tell my children if they ask for Daddy? During the day, they’re used to Daddy being not home. It’s the night time that they look for him. Roan cried the last time he’s away for work. The kids are going Trick or Treating without Dad, for the first time. Hmmm.. sad, but he needs to do what he has to do to support our family.

He will be home for Thanksgiving, that’s a good thing, and maybe home for Christmas. If he’s unlucky to stay there for 6 months, he will only be with us few days during Christmas time and he needs to go back.

These are the only pictures of me and my husband together, majority of our pictures are the kids.
Sometimes, being promoted for a higher position means, less time with family, a little increase (stinkin’ little) in pay, but hey..for a hardworking employee like my husband, it’s a big deal, and he’s so excited about it..I want him to stay hourly though. Salaried position sometimes has disadvantage, while hourly, overtime pays Baby!!!
Honey, I know you read my blog everyday, I am so proud of you..You always think of your family (although you got a nicer vehicle and nicer prepaid cellphone I am not complaitning, hehehe)
We will miss you Daddy!! We all love you. Take care.
That’s all Folks..Have a great day and great week!!!
Ocean Actives Topical Deep Water Squalane
As a woman of late 30′s, when I look in the mirror, I can see my forehead, eyes and mouth having lines, loose skin, dry, and I started to worry that I am looking old. I know that Aging cannot be prevented, but I have learned that, though we cannot stop aging, we can slow the process. You can see on TV all these advertisement about skin care products, left and right articles about how to maintain your young looking skin.
Dr.Lark.com is the best website that I found online. They have a line of skin care product that would suit your skin need. There’s one that I found that interests me that I believe absolutely works. It’s Ocean Actives Topical Deep Water Squalane.
When I apply it topically, it will give my skin back what it needs to regenerate and look naturally younger and healthier. It is also an antioxidant, so it will give me extra protection against skin-damaging free radicals. It will sooth my skin instantly because it will truly lubricate my skin.
Dr.Lark.com will be the answer to all our skin problems. The best thing about this website too is you can do an automatic order for a very reasonable price. How’s that for a bonus. So, why try something else. If you want to learn more about this website, just visit http://www.drlark.com/.
Now that I drive, I am so happy, I can take my kids anywhere without begging my husband to drive us. Last Saturday, we went to ChuckEcheeses and the kids had fun. Dan wasn’t with us, since we can’t all fit in the car. And besides, he’s almost 15, he didn’t need to go there. I promised to drive him to the mall next weekend to meet with his friends. (Sosyal di ba, “I will drive him to the mall”, I love the sound of it.)
Roan and Alexandra
Roan and Wrozlie gobbling pizza
Going to that place is not cheap. I spent almost $30 for 1 large pizza, 2 drinks and 25 tokens. That’s why, I forced myself to eat 3 slices of pizza, and plus, the remaining 2 slices I took it home with me. I ain’t leaving those expensive food laying on the table. 25 tokens was enough for my children, they already gave me headache by following them around. Alex didn’t want to ride anywhere, she’s scared.
Roan giving himself bunny ears (can’t see it)
I asked Roan what was he doing scratching his head while I was taking his picture, he said, he’s giving himself some bunny ears. A what?? I can’t see no bunny ears.
Alex playing with the School us
I tried to put her in one of those rides, but she didn’t like it, she’s satisfied with walking around, almost being stepped on, and she just stays there and play with whatever, it’s a lot cheaper than the other kids, she didn’t need any tokens.
Wrozlie, riding a horse
This is Wrozlie’s favorite ride when we go to ChuckEcheeses, she likes the idea of holding the reigns and she thinks she’s moving and she would say, “hiya, hiya“
Making face Wrozlie
Of all my kids, she’s the “maarte” one, they said, because she takes it after me. Huwat??? I thought the reason why she’s pretty and adorable is because she looks like me. Hahaha!
Pa Cute, sobra!!!
She would be my little Filipina actress, with that kind of pose? Huh! She needs to learn how to speak Tagalog, and Philippine Cinema, here we come!
Road Construction on my way to a friend’s house.
My friend Delia from Dover TN, has been inviting me to come over to their house. It’s at least half an hour drive from our place. So, basically my husband won’t drive me. Now that I have a license, the more my husband doesn’t drive me anymore, unless it’s his “lakad” then I go along.
I decided to drive to get to her house, and took Wrozlie with me. It’s my first time driving somewhere that’s not part of our town. I asked Rodney, but he said, he’s watching Football.
At first, I was fine driving, I was enjoying my freedom, until I get to the road construction area, where 2 lanes turned into one, and cones on the side with 2 solid yellow lines in between. I never got scared in my life. Here I was, driving with my child who’s sleeping at the backseat. I didn’t even know if I was going to be able to get out of that tight road alive. I almost cried..I wanted to pull over on the side of the road and call my husband to come get us. But, there’s no way I can pull over, people were behind me, I kept stepping on the break, since it’s too curvy.
I was thinking, why did I agree on coming over, or why didn’t I let my husband take me. I can cook pansit, I can make biko, hehehe..if that’s the only reason to endanger my life and my daughter’s, it’s not worth it. I was finally able to breathe when that construction road ended. I had to stop somewhere, I didn’t know where I was going, did I pass the turn that I was supposed to take?
I seen a gasoline station and pulled over, I asked the lady where was I and she said, I have to cross a bridge before I get to Dover..What? bridge, I have to drive on a bridge? I was planning to just turn around. I called my husband, but my cell phone minutes expired, wahhhhhh!!!!! I only wanted to eat pansit and visit a friend, was that too much to ask?
Dover Bridge that I passed, scary..
Here’s the bridge that I passed. I was holding on to the stirring wheel so tight, I didn’t want to let go of the wheel, I was too scared to even look at my sides. My eyes were glued to the road. What an experience for me.
Finally I was able to get through the road, and voila! that’s my turn on the very fist stop light that I seen. Whew!!!
Motorboat that we spotted at the lake behind Delia’s house
When I pulled in at their house, I almost kissed the ground. Hahaha..I made it, I made it!!! Gary and Delia are good people. They welcomed us so warmly. At the back of their house was a Lake, people in a motorboat passed by and waving at us. Delia also had some other friends that came. She made Wrozlie a crocheted blanket, she gave a blessed rosary . We picked lots of vegetables. We had fun, it’s worth our trip there.
Me, Wrozlie, Marie and Kaitlin
Picking up veggies at the back
Kaitlin and Wrozlie posing
When I talked to my husband I asked him to come and get us, coz I didn’t know if I would be able to go through that road construction again. I told him to take Grace with him, so Grace can drive my car, and Wrozlie and myself will ride with him.
This is what he said to me..”You drove your way there, you can drive your way back home, just keep going straight and pretty soon, you will hit 41a and you will know where you’re at..”
I had to prove to him that I can ..And I did!!! He was smiling when I got home and he said that he was anticipating my request. But he needed to decline, so that I will have to try to do the things that I said I can’t..
Thanks Delia and Gary for the warm visit..Next time, you come over to our house…
That’s all Folks!! Have a great week to all!
My husband is an automotive/aircraft mechanic, can be a plumber, painter, builder, whatever he needs to do. He can fix anything that can get fixed. He would buy used car and if it needs fixing, he will fix it. Our Chevy Suburban quit on us on our way back home from Chicago last September, but it got fixed so it’s parked outside our house… He’s driving a Honda Civic (very old), now that I have a license, I drive it. He bought an old Mercedes Benz (it vibrates when it’s running) from a co-worker for a reasonable amount of money.
It needed some fixing, and so he did fix it. But, he was thinking, he can only drive it around town, maybe to and from work, because the fastest it can go is 65mph. It’s not reliable if he needs to drive long distance. With our unreliable vehicles, we would have to rent a van whenever we need to visit my in-laws in Alabama or if we need to go somewhere hauling the whole family.
He told me last Wednesday that his company, DynCorp is sending him to Alabama to work on some aircrafts. As a Crew Lead and a Technical Inspector, he would need a reliable vehicle. He didn’t sleep for 2 nights thinking, which car he’s going to take with him. I told him I will drive the Mercedes and he could take the Honda, but he said, the Benz being unreliable, he doesn’t like me driving it.
He did the unthinkable. He traded-in our Suburban and the Mercedes for a Truck. A big one too. Now, we only have 2 vehicles, additional car payment and more insurance premium. I was shocked but he needs it. If I have to go back to work to be able to afford it, I would have no choice but to. Now, my husband has a truck that he can drive anywhere. It’s a 6-seater and still looks nice. He was apologizing to me coz his vehicle has an Air Condition, mine doesn’t. Huwaaaa!!
Over 50% of Americans are overweight nowadays. I go grocery shopping and I can see overweight people having hard time walking. My mother-in-law had a Gastric Bypass Surgery last 2003. She could’ve had a Lap-Band Surgery as an alternative. I believe that once they reached their maximum weight, it’s hard for them to go on a strict food diet. The only solution would be a surgery for them to lose the excess weight and live a healthy life.
I was researching one day about weight loss, since I have a family member who’s needing to lose weight and I came across this website. Dr. Richard Collier is a Lap-Band Surgery Specialist, well respected 30 years of surgical experience. He has weight loss surgery program and he provides a comprehensive Lap-Band©, as an alternative to Gastric Bypass . Dr. Richard Collier gives each of his patient his personal attention every office visit before and after surgery. He has offices in the Woodlands, Conroe, Houston, Kingwood and Spring ,Texas areas.
The best part of having a Lap Band Surgery by Dr. Richard Collier is ,they have a highly- praised after care team program for patients following their surgery. Each patient knows that they will be taken care of during and after the procedure. In office sessions a Licensed registered Dietitian will help a patient to provide nutritional counseling. A skilled professionals will also provide Psychological guidance and exercise instruction.
If you know someone who can benefit from this procedure you can visit this website , Lap Band Surgery might be the right procedure for you or for them. Safe and guaranteed.
Halloween is a holiday celebrated on the night of October 31. Halloween activities include trick-or-treating, ghost tours, bonfires, costume parties, visiting “haunted houses”, carving Jack-o’-lanterns, reading scary stories and watching horror movies.
BOOOOOOO! My 6 year old has been asking me what is he going to be on Halloween. I said he can be a left over, wrapped in Tin Foil. or a Mummy, wrapped in Toilet Paper. Those are the cheapest costume I can think of.
Wrozlie wants to be Princess Cinderella, yeah, it cost $20 at Walmart. I am glad Alexandra doesn’t really care right now. She could be a Lumpia and she won’t even know the difference. Dan wants to wear a Mike Meyers mask. I browsed at Goodwill, but most of their costumes were all well worn out. I want cheap stuff, but not to the extent that my kids will look like beggars or scavengers. Oppss…I guess, I had been so pre occupied with lots of stuff, I forgot to put out my Halloween decorations. I had 2 items that I bought last year, it was on Clearance section. My husband and I really never decorated our place until we bought this house. Well, we had Christmas Tree last year, and some Icicles and assorted lights. I always tell myself that I will shop after Christmas to get the bargain price. But every year, after Christmas, money is gone, so I don’t have money to buy any clearance items. Candies, I almost forgot..I keep seeing all this whole aisle of Halloween candies, one of these days, I have to grab at least $10 worth of candies to give out on Halloween. Trick or Treat!!!!!
