My friend Jen forwarded this e-mail to me and told me that her blood is still boiling. I asked her why and she told me to read it.. Can you all please read it before you leave my site? It’s a little long, but it’s pretty interesting..I promised her I will post it in my blog.
Subject: HATE LETTER
This is a very disturbing open E-mail letter to all Filipinos around
the world; specially here in North America !, from a man who has the power
to reach million of people. (he’s a radio talk host)
Please read on……….. ….
This is an open letter email by Art Bell, a radio talk show host in Nevada (more info in the email itself).. Here is yet another person who has taken advantage of his power and priv ilege to use hateful words and racial stereotypes that breed further ignorance and intolerance in our society.
Art Bell is a talk radio host who has two shows that he broadcasts from his home in Nevada , that is rebroadcast by 400 stations across the country.
He’s written 2 books. He lived in Okinawa , Japan for some years and had a radio program on the English station here. And, though it’s hard to believe after reading the following letter from him, he actually has been to the Philippines (he’s traveled fairly extensively around the world).
And letter is so degrading, I think it’s really important that everybody read this and not attack him, but respond to him in a civilized manner because otherwise his thoughts will be reaffirmed. Understand that not everyone has a viewpoint like we do, and that this is an opinion of someone who hopefully can be changed only by civil actions. – May Munoz
…………. ……….. ……… ……… ……..
Filipinos… ..*make me puke* (Art Bell)
As we’ve all come to notice, in the past few decades, Filipinos have begun to infest the United States like some sort of disease. Their extensive involvement in the U.S. Armed Forces is proof of the trashy kind of qualities all Filipinos tend to exhibit on a regular basis.. You can see this clearly by studying the attitudes and cultural Icons of most Filipino Americans.
Origins of Pinoys/Pinays:
Are they really Asian? Well we’ve come to accept the fact the Filipinos come from a part of the world known as South East Asia . But the term ‘ Asia ‘ is used in the wrong way. You may notice that contemporary Filipino Americans try very hard to associ ate themselves with groups that we know as Asian. I cannot count the number of times I have seen a ‘ Third World ‘ Filipino try to connect themselves to the Chinese or Japanese people. There is no connection and here’s why. The Philippines is a Third World country. Nothing respectable has EVER been created by Filipino people during our entire human history. Young Filipino men in America have become obsessed with ‘import racing’. They have an enormously perverted affection for Japanese cars. It’s a common phenomenon. In their minds, these Filipinos somehow believe that they are Asian and that it somehow connects them to Japanese people and Japanese cars. They often take credit for the ingenuity of Japanese people and say how it’s an ‘Asian thing’. This term…’Asian thing’ derived directly from African American slang ‘blackthang’ . ‘It’s a black thang.’ ‘It’s an asian thang.’ You can see the connection. It’s even funnier that, in Japan , Filipinos are heavily discriminated against. The only filipinos that can live successfully in Japan are the filipino prostitutes. But that’s the case for most Filipino people no matter where they live in the world. Now we’ve come down to this fact…and it is a fact.
Nothing in Filipino Culture can be seen as Asian. They have no architectural, artistic, or cultural influence which is in ANY way, asian. Thinking of the great countries in Asia such as Japan , Korea , and China there is no way you can possibly connect the Philippine Islands . This assault by filipino americans to connect themselves with the great peoples of North East Asia is foul and disgusting. Try visiting a young filipino’s web site too. You’ll see something called the ‘Asian IRC Ring’. It has to do with the chatrooms. The most horrible thing about this is that these TRASHY people are trying to associate themselves with Asia again!! People in Asia don’t act like, this at all. What we are seeing here is the natural Filipino in it’s element with full access to technology and this is how they act! You will consistently see this behavior over and over again.
Another interesting thing is that these ‘thirdworld’ people also frequent RC chatrooms such as #chinese #japan and #asian. They must believe that they are some how related racially or culturally to North Asians. But it’s completely WRONG! There might have been some distant contact With China and even less with Japan during World War II, but these people are actually more closely related to african americans and Mexican americans.
Do the parents of these young filipinos know what’s going on? Would they accept this? I believe that they would and do. This is the natural ‘Trash’ element in filipinos manifesting itself. Nothing good has ever come from Philippines and I don’t believe anything good ever will.
Recognizing your Roots (A Message to Filipinos)
To all filipino people:
Please recognize your ROOTS! You come from the Third World ! You country is a disgusting and filthy place. Most people there live in poverty! Your culture has MUCH MORE SPANISH influence than chinese, and absolutely no JAPANESE influence whatsoever. People in Japan and China , do not act like you. They do not constantly talk about sex and they have a MUCH HIGHER level of RESPECT for each other. There is NO WAY that you can connect yourself to Asia other than location. Your culture and technological advancement does not even come CLOSE to What Chinese, people have done in the past and what Japanese and Korean people are doing now! Everything you do is distinctly filipino. You cannot take credit for Japanese cars, video games, or Hentai! It’s not an ‘asian thing’ it’s, an ‘American thing’. You have no concept of culture…no concept of asian ideas or asian philosophy! Can you demonstrate how you use Confucianism or Taoism in you everyday life?? You can’t. And you will NEVER be able to. I understand that you are trying to create an identity for yourselves as young people… but it is NOT related to Asia .
Your Identity is Filipino.. That’s all you are. Just Filipino. Think about what that means….
I find this funny, he is right in some ways where we, as Filipinos dont actually have an ‘Identity’. I think this is due to the confusion of our mixed races from Hispanic, Chinese, American and Malay origins. I see it in malls, imagine young generations wearing ski caps and ski goggles in a tropical country, baggy low rise pants like that of African Americans living in th e Bronx of New York, not to mention endless whitening products being sold at department stores and drug stores.. But his ignorance also blinds him from the other truth. That while we may glorify Anime shows and Japanese Internet gaming, he is not aware that a nameless Filipino may be responsible for some technical aspects of some Japanese software. He is not aware of our contribution to the the society in general Technological advancements that may have aided post war navigations and landing on the moon. That the antibiotic Erythromycin was discovered by Dr. Abelardo Aguilar from Iloilo creating the brand ‘Ilosone’. Thomas Edison may have discovered the electric light bulb and the fluorescent lighting was thought up by Nikola Tesla. But the fluorescent lamp we use today was invented by Agapito Flores (a Cebuano named Benigno Flores of Bantayan Island , according to the Philippine Daily inquirer), a Filipino scientist. Americans helped then-Philippine leader Ramon Magsaysay to develo p it for worldwide commerce.
That the personal physician of former U.S. Pres. Bill Clinton is Eleanor ‘Connie’ Concepcion Mariano, a Filipina doctor who was the youngest captain in the US Navy. A Filipino writer Jose Rizal could read and write at age 2, and grew up to speak more than 20 languages, including Latin, Greek, German, French and Chinese. Or that a Filipino genius was responsible for the near hiatus in the PENTAGON and White HOuse nearly infiltrating their closely guarded secrets with the ‘ILOVEYOU’ bug. Nuisance maybe, but still one heck of a ‘beautiful mind’…not to be underestimated. The list goes on and on, but who cares right? Certainly not Mr.. Art Bell…Boy, I’m not surprised. Perhaps Art Bell does not know that although we consider ourselves ASIAN because we are strategically located in the Southeast asian region of which our nearest neighbors are Malays, ASIA does not mean only Chinese and Japanese race of people. Then maybe it is his connotation that ‘Asia’ meant only our economically successful, paler brothers and he considers Malays such as Thais, Malaysians, Indonesians, and ourselves as a ‘ Third World ‘ race. Then it is ‘his’ ignonimity that would make a civilized person of whatever race puke. Imagine literally connecting Chinese, Koreans and Japanese to the Philippine Islands which is archipelagos away from the countries he has mentioned. I also wonder where he got the impression that we aspire to be Japanese(??? ) Hispanics maybe but not the Japanese. But even Hispanics today do not mind sharing their ‘surnames’ to their Asian brothers who they have colonized for 3 centuries.
Another sad reality that although most Filipinos working overseas are domestic helpers and prostitutes, who does he think educates the toddlers of Hong Kong , Singapore , Taiwan and Tokyo ? Parents of these countries rarely have time spent with their children, leaving them to their Filipino nannies. And with regards to prostitution. Filipinos are not the only ones working as one. I HARDLY SEE FILIPINOS STARRING IN PORN MOVIES. THERE MIGHT BE A FEW FILIPINOS WE HAVEN’T SEEN , BUT MOST ARE FROM MR. ART BELL’S RACE.
He also mentioned that we have no concept of culture..no concept of asian ideas or asian philosophy. How can we demonstrate Confucianism or Taoism in a Christian nation? IS HE INFORMED THAT THE PHILIPPINES IS THE ONLY PREDOMINANTLY CHRISTIAN/CATHOLIC NATION IN ASIA ?! YOU HAVE TO USE COMMON SENSE IN A LOT OF THINGS SOMETIMES…
We do not need to create an identity for ourselves. We are who we are. Our identity stems from the anonymity we live in this world. How we contribute silently towards the progress of the world and not just one country. Although the Filipino blood may be tainted with malice, corruption, poverty and prostitution, it is not a perfect race… But so are the others. Maybe Mr. Art Bell needs to think about this. WE MAY NOT BE PERFECT MR. BELL BUT AT LEAST WE STILL HAVE VALUES. FOR ONE THING WE DONT PUT OUR AGING PARENTS IN NURSING HOMES BECAUSE ‘THEY’RE SIMPLY OLD AND WORTHLESS’. WE DONT HAVE AS MUCH NUMBERS OF SINGLE MOTHERS WHO GET PREGNANT IN THEIR VERY EARLY TEENS AND EVENTUALLY BECOME PARASITES OF THE GOVERNMENT FOR YEARS AND YEARS. YES…WE CAME TO YOUR COUNTRY TO WORK, TO EARN DECENT MONEY (HALF OF WHICH BY THE WAY GOES TO TAXES BECAUSE THERE’S SO MANY SOCIAL PARASITES FROM YOUR RACE)..AND BY THE WAY, MOST EDUCATED PEOPLE THAT I WORK WITH DONT COME FROM YOUR RACE… THEY’RE ACTUALLY IMMIGRANTS TOO. AND THOSE EDUCATED ONES DO NOT ACT LIKE YOU DO, PERHAPS BECAUSE THEY’VE REALLY BEEN WELL EDUCATED..AFTER ALL THAT’S SAID… WHO IS THE IGNORANT ONCE AGAIN?! –
Is what I kept hearing everytime I close my eyes.I can still see her face, a picture of hurt and scared. Ahhhhhhh! I wish I could erase this bad memory, but I can’t…..
It was this Saturday,April 25th at 945PM, when Rodney and I decided to take Alexandra to the ER. She started showing a bothersome signs that she wasn’t feeling good when we were outside playing at around 10AM in the morning. She would complain about something and at the same time holding on to her front saying “popo” meaning, she’s peeing. It continued all day, until she would cry while doing the same thing.
I decided to take off her diaper and just let her wear a regular underpants, and see if she would feel better. Every time she pees, she would scream in pain. We assumed it’s UTI,since kids can get UTI as well, especially when they take bubble baths. Rodney did a lot of research online about “pain during urination in children” and he found a lot of different situations.
We called her Pediatrician, only to be told to wait until the next day to go to an URGENT care clinic, if we didn’t want to take her to the ER. We decided to wait, until we can’t bear to hear her weep while urinating. So, we drove to the hospital, got there around 1011PM, waited at the waiting area. Finally, they called her name around 230AM. Went to the Exam room 11 and waited for the doctor.
Doctor finally came, after probably 15 minutes of waiting. He checked her while she was screaming on top of her lungs, I was holding her and hugging her while she’s being checked. Doctor said, the only way to find out if she had UTI is to put a catheter in her urethra to get a urine sample. The thought of catheter scared me to death.but, hubby said, we had no choice.
Nurses came, and my fear started to arise. We had to pin her down to the bed. I was hugging her,Rodney was on her head, a nurse was holding her legs, and the other one was trying to put the catheter in her pee hole. She was screaming bloody murder, saying “Nooooo! Noooo!” and she was calling Mama, and I cannot seem to understand why my daughter had to go through this.
“Please God, let this moment be over..I can’t bear anymore of this torture to my child”, every scream that she lets out, was a pierce to my heart. I was praying so hard..”Dear Lord, let me feel the pain, let her be numb, I can bear the pain, but I know my child can’t”. “Shhhhh, Sweetheart, it’s OK,mommy’s here, you’ll be OK, it’s going to be over..” I was trying so hard to assure her that Mommy’s next to her, I was kissing her face, maybe she would feel how much I love her, I thought, it might ease a little pain. Those were the worst 2 minutes of my life….
“OK, it’s over, you can dress her up”, the nurse said, I snatched her out of that exam bed and hugged her so tight, that she wrapped both her arms and legs around me..Of all the pain that I had gone through in my life, as a mother, this one I cannot bear. The weeping of your child because she was in pain feels like a knife slicing your heart piece by piece. That’s how painful it was for me.
We waited again, and finally 345am, we got the result, she didn’t have UTI,but a DYSURIA where she had some sore around her genital area due to humid and heat that if left untreated can lead to Yeast infection. When she pees, it burns the sores, that’s why she was screaming in pain.Desitin was what the doctor prescribed, the creamy one, and I am glad that we already have it. Wearing too much diaper during summer time can give a child Dysuria, due to not having enough air to dry the area. Watch out for some bubble baths as well.
We were probably an over reacting parents, but we care for our kids too much and we cannot bear to see her uncomfortable. It might cost us $100 co pay for ER, and some more charges from the ER doctor, but who cares. Now,we know she doesn’t have infection and we are at peace. She feels a little better now, she would still let us know when she’s peeing for she probably still feel a little sting, but, we are keeping an eye on her…I am glad that this nightmare is just a memory now. I can’t get over it, it will take time for me. When I look at her,all I see is her crying for help and it brings tears to my eyes…
I can’t think of anything to write. My mind is occupied with lots of things. The house that we are buying in Alabama, hopefully the closing on Monday would run smoothly.
When we go there next Thursday, I will take some pictures of the inside and I will share them with you..We will probably sleep on the floor, we want my MIL to see the house before she goes back to NY on the 2nd of May.
I have been organizing my boxes/luggage for our trip to the Philippines. We only have 30 days left and it’s time to fly. I have to pack everything that I can, so that Rodney can start moving some of our things that we don’t always use, like winter stuff and photo albums and such.
As soon as we leave on the 23rd of May, Rodney is going to move everything to the new house, using a Uhaul Truck.
No matter how much I think of something to write, I cannot come up with something funny or humorous. I am also planning on having Alexandra’s 2nd birthday party in the Province of Nueva Ecija, (her birthday is June 1) same time that my cousin is having his 1st Birthday Party (his bday is May 30th). My kumareng Niko is nice enough to offer me a Trapaulin with Alex and Zaimond’s picture on it. I am bringing some small toys that I can put in their goodie bags. Our theme is Dora, Diego for Alex and Spongebob for my cousin Zaimond..
I guess, it would really be fun, especially it will be held in the Barrio, where majority of the children are not used to attending parties. I am already getting excited, I know that we are going to make a lot of children happy. Most of my relatives there are less fortunate, they don’t get lots of candies, toys nor eat cakes. I am so sad to see them not exposed to this kind of things.
The last time I went there last January 2007, I baked some cakes and fed the kids, and after dinner, I saw my cousin’s son licking the tray..It broke my heart. I promised him that next time I go there, I will bring more. His parents are not poor, they have farm and make decent amount of money, with beautiful house, but, they are just not luxurious when it comes to food, or party and stuff like that.
These are the things that running around my little head at this time. If I don’t come visit your site, please pardon me, I have so many things going on and I guess, sometimes, I just have to take it easy.
Well, Have a great day to all, and I hope that I can think of another entry soon.. Thanks for never getting tired of coming to my site.. If I fail to visit you, buzz me once in a while..
April 18th was Roan’s birthday, so I was busy again this past weekend. His theme was Toy Story. It’s old but that’s what he wanted.
I got lucky of finding a Toy Story cake at Walmart, since this movie was so over 10 years old.
I had to wake up early that Saturday to put this decoration. My husband gave me his full support, he did the ones that needed height.
We had some kids came over, and of course, Jen and her family.
Claire came over as well; Amanda was having fun playing with Grace’s hamster, Chikko.
Happy Birthday Baby, as if it was only yesterday. We all love you…Mwahhhh!!!
Please read my Kid’s Post too… Thanks…
Firs of all, I hope that everybody had a great Easter.
I had been busy with guests the past week, so I didn’t have the chance to blog hop or even to post. My MIL came last Saturday from NY and my cousins from Chicago left last Sunday.
Right now, I am bonding with my MIL, we go out everyday so we don’t get bored. Tuesday is $10 haircut at Walmart, so I took her there and she got a hair cut and I dyed her hair, now she rocks!!!
I told her, with this picture that was taken this morning, she brought the darkness out of me. I just looked too dark.
With the 3 of us, she said, we looked like an Oreo cookies, she was the filling and Wrozlie and I are the chocolate sandwich.
If I am not able to blog hop, please understand that while my MIL is here, I don’t want to be busy with something else. She will go to Alabama next week, then, that time, I can blog hop and spend time with my site.
I didn’t have any pictures of our egg hunting, but as soon as my cousin sends me some, I will post it here. Alex and Wrozlie were wearing dresses and I was wearing my PJ’s, wahhhh!
Take care you all and Have a great day!
April 9th, 2004 when Rodney and I tied the knot. It was on a Good Friday. We’ve been together for over 2 years when we were able to get married. We went to the courthouse in Wheaton Illinois. Our only witness was Dan, who was 10 years old that time. My parents weren’t able to witness this special day of our lives, since my dad was sick due to his radiation treatment, so he and my mom with Roan decided to just stay home. I went to work after the ceremony and he did too. We didn’t have any money to eat out so we ate dinner at home that night.
These were pictures of us before we were married.
These pictures were both taken in June and July 2001. He just got out of the military and I was working as a Sales Clerk in downtown, Chicago. When we were still skinny. We’re already talking about LOVE.
Before I became Rodney’s wife. Taken Christmas 2001, I was pregnant with Roan, at my aunt’s house in Chicago, Illinois. I told him, all I want for Christmas was his presence, and so he drove 11 hours to be with me.
It’s been 5 years now since I became Mrs. Barnett, and up to this moment, I can’t still believe that I would carry an American last name. Rodney and I have been through a lot, tough times and all. We moved so many times to so many different places. We have been on the deepest and most excruciating stage of our lives (financially)as a family, and I am so proud to say that we’ve made it to wherever we are right now, because of our love, respect and trust for each other.
I don’t know whatelse to say but, I love my husband so much. I am so lucky to have met and married him. He gave me beautiful children and a wonderful life.

Who would not fall in-love with this hunk? Hahaha! just kidding. Rodney dyed his hair before this picture, he said, he would pose as a mean man..Did he look mean in this picture? Roan was playing headbutt with him.
To You Honey, Happy 5th Year of being married to me. I know you will tell me again how lucky you are, that you married a great woman, generous, thoughtful, wonderful mother and wife, and of course, gorgeous, wahahahahaha! But, I also wanted to tell you, that my life won’t be this great, if it wasn’t for YOU!!!
I loved you yesterday,
I love you today and
I will love you, FOREVER.
Have a great day to all!!!
What a week.
I wasn’t able to blog for at least a week, gosh, has it been that long? I got busy and then I got sick again for the last 3 days. The weather is not doing me any good. My sinus allergy attacks me whenever the weather changes. I am still congested at this very moment, been miserable for 3 nights now. I think, there is something wrong with my taste buds also, because everything I eat doesn’t taste good and I have no appetite. Wow, that should help me lose weight, well, that’s not a good thing though.
Anyway, it’s only now that I had the mood to write. I cleaned a little portion of the house today, preparation for the visit of my cousin and her family from Chicago. Last weekend was my aunt and her family from Illinois. On Thursday, my cousin Fatima, who I used to baby sit in the Philippines ( now married with a kid) with her family are coming to visit us for the Weekend. So, I am trying to dust off some furniture and clean under the couch and beds.
On Saturday also is my MIL visit from New York, Rodney’s mom. She will be in town for 3 weeks. I will probably be busy, but I will still try to blog hop.
I took the boys to the hair cut place today and I decided to get a haircut too.
Wrozlie was putting a lipstick on while I was posing for a picture, tsk!
I don’t know if Rodney will like it, he wants my long hair, but, hahaha! it’s my head you know.
Hopefully, I won’t get congested anymore and my sinus headache would go away, so that I can blog hop and have fun with my cousins.
Have a great day to all. Have fun and Happy Easter.
P.S. We will do egg hunting at the backyard on Sunday, yehey!
Gusto ko lang magpasalamat sa mga kaibigan ko dito sa Blogging World na nag wish sa akin ng Happy Birthday. I really do appreciate it.
Well, alam kong lahat yun eh totoo, wahahaha! again, thanks..
This is my friend, Beth who posted a Birthday post for me, at ang nilagay na picture ko, aba eh pang Hollywood. Hahaha! I know that we have only known each other for quite sometime now, but I know that our friendship will last as long as we keep it alive. I hope to see you when I go home to visit.
This is my cousin Ednaleen who introduced me to Blogging, she was right when she said that I will learn and I will come to point when I would write from my heart. I thought that I wasn’t going to be able to think of anything to write. Thank you cousin Edna, for everything, for the help with downloading Tagalog movies, and for taking the time to teach me a lot of stuff. Someday, we will see each other, wag mo lang akong utusang kumanta na kasama ka at sus, ginoo day!
Thanks to Ate Cecile who made an entry about my birthday and posted a picture of me that she said she almost entered in the “Search for Next Top Models” wahahahahaha! joke only. I would like to take this opportunity as well to thank her for the memorabilia that she sent me thru the mail. Thanks, you are right indeed, WE ARE FAMILY.
And of course no other than my Kumareng Niko who like the others took the time to blog about my birthday. She wants the Blogging world to know that I got a year older today, hahahaha! She is so sweet and thoughtful, don’t you think? If you are wondering why we call each other Kumare, it’s because Yena her beautiful daughter is my inaanak. Blogging is such a wonderful way of finding real friends. She calls me gorgeous, you think she needs glasses? Thank you Mare ko, finally magkikita na rin tayo, chikka to death na lang tayo. And of course, don’t forget your dream vacation to the US of A.
