With Christmas being just around the corner, I am thinking of kind of gifts for mom that she will love. My mother is simple and with simple wants. But, she is also a little picky with things. I used to give her jewelries, so she has some and she loves purses. Since we are going to Illinois on Christmas, I will be able to give her the present personally. She also loves word find puzzle, she is fond of making necklaces or bracelets using beads. She’s a dressmaker too, so she I can give her some sewing kits, cross stitch kit or crochet and all. Now that I thought about all these, it’s not hard to think of what to give her on any occasion.

My aunt who loves to send me a lot of informative stuff sent me an e-mail containing this one which at first, I had a hard time understanding it. Then at the bottom of the conversation, I easily understood what it meant. Read on and you will know what I mean..

I was recently in Miami and decided to learn the Spanish language, so I could understand the check-outs at McDonalds .

My next move is to learn Indian, so I can understand my doctors and the person that answers the phone when I have a warranty problem
.
Yep, by the time I read this, I was able to understand the 1st line.

“TENJOOBERRYMUDS”…
In order to continue getting-by in America (our home land), we all need to learn the NEW English language! Practice by reading the following conversation until you are able to understand the term “TENJOOBERRYMUDS”.

With a little patience, you’ll be able to fit right in.
Now, here goes…

The following is a telephone exchange between maybe you as a hotel guest and room-service somewhere in the good old U S A today…….

Room Service : “Morrin. Roon sirbees.”

Guest : “Sorry, I thought I dialed room-service.”

Room Service: ” Rye . Roon sirbees…morrin! Joowish to oddor sunteen???”

Room Service: “Ow July den?”

RoomService: “Tenjooberrymuds.”

Guest: “You’re welcome”

Medication Cart

If you haven’t noticed yet, the medical world is being modernized as well. If before, doctors would hold a clip board to check patients, or they have records on paper on dispensing medicines to patients, now they use the latest and more efficient gadget, they have cpu cart which can be rolled anywhere in the ER rooms, patients rooms, nurses’ office and so on and so forth. They also use a medicine dispenser which is computerized, that way mistakes can be minimal and overdosed or other mishaps can be prevented.

Do you use those fake eyelashes that you stick with your own because yours are not long enough to curl it? Long eyelashes give a certain impact to your eyes and enhance your look. Other women are blessed enough to have long eyelashes that’s why they are happy with it. Those that didn’t spend money to buy those sticky eyelashes that you dispose of after one use. Now I know why eyelash growth products were made. We all know that women will do everything for vanity reason. My only vice is dying my hair when I can see grey sticking out my head :) I might try long eye lashes and see if I will be more beautiful.

My friend Christy came to United States 2 weeks ago and my husband and I gave her a “Welcome to the United States” party here at the house. Our friends came to celebrate with us. We had food, singing, dancing and goofing around. In short, we had so much fun. Christy was welcomed with warmth and friendly smiles. Julie took some photos and so I will post some..

Us, girls..

Julie, Sunshine, Christy, Liz Jannette, Ellen, Grace and Julie

Shiny but smiling faces...

It seems like we always have parties, but this is how we Filipinas get together. We always find a way to eat Filipino food, to sing and dance and just be together. You can join us when you come in our neighborhood.

Let the party begin!!!

Well, I didn’t have a baby, nor I am pregnant. We added a vehicle to the family. If you all know, we have 6 children all together, so during summer time, there’s 8 of us in the family. My car can only accommodate 5 people, hubby drives his truck and take 2 kids with him. Sometimes, when we go to church, my son also drives his car. So, we use 3 vehicles to go to the same place. Besides, the kids are getting bigger and they cannot fit at the back of my car anymore. That’s why now that my car is paid off, (wohooo! after 2 years, I am done paying for it..) we bought (loan) a Jeep Commander that sits 7. It has built in DVD with 2 screens, it has a built in GPS, a camera when you’re backing up, you can plug in your mp3 player or what not. It has sunroof and all that feature that made it so cool. Hubby went to CARMAX in Huntsville, AL and he was happy with the service. He went there Sunday afternoon, and we took the car home after that. T.P helped him from picking the car to signing paperwork. He was so patient with us. He knew a lot about the cars that they are selling and he’s so professional. I was surprised that they didn’t give my husband any problem and approved his loan on the spot. They were to finance us for the vehicle, but my hubby applied for a car loan in our bank and he was approved for the whole amount of the vehicle. So now, we owe our bank a lot of money, wahhhhh!

I was thinking of not getting a big vehicle, but we need to, we are going to Illinois this Christmas and we would all be very uncomfortable if we go using my little car. Dan won’t be able to go with us and I feel bad about leaving him by himself on Christmas day. So, I know that it’s another monthly bill, but, we got to do what we got to do. We just need to be conscientious of our budget.

I downloaded some pictures from the CARMAX website and these are the pictures of our vehicle.

2008 Jeep Commander

Not very long, I can probably back up without hitting other car around me.

Nice dashboard (according to my hubby)

Wohooo! cruise control.. (I hope I don't fall asleep driving..)

screen for GPS, and back up camera (sosyal!)

Sun roof (gosh! it will ruin my hair do..)

Driver and Passenger seats

The middle seats ( accommodates 3)

The backseat (accommodates 2, but if skinny, can accommodate 3..)

Now, finally, we can fit comfortably. It’s not as long as a van, but it will do. My husband’s concern about the van is, if the engines breaks down, it’s hard to find parts to it. While Jeep Commander parts are easy to find. I don’t know, I know nothing about vehicles, so I don’t have any comments on that. All I know is hubby likes this vehicle because it’s a manly looking one. I might be able to drive it one day, when I am the only one in the parking lot :)

Have a great weekend to all!

1987, Foundation Day, Miss IV-A

Yes Folks, I was the one on the right, wearing pink ball gown. I was on my senior year in High School and someone nominated me as the class muse. I was surprised that someone played a joke on me, the sad part was, people voted for me. That was the time that I realized, I was beautiful, wahahahahahaha! Oh well… I came across this photo when I found my high school classmate, Cathy on Facebook , the one sitting next to me, she was also part of the Parade. During that time, we used a “trike” bike with a little sidecar attached to it.. cheaper and smaller. My guy classmates alternately drove me around town. It’s the very first time that somebody noticed my beauty:)

Roaming around town riding in a Trike..

We had a parade and it was so much fun. Looking at this photo, I came to realize that High School life was the most exciting moments of my life. Those were the times of adolescence, started noticing the opposite sex, became conscious of what we looked like. I can’t go to school without combing my hair, I would bring a little comb and face powder and started choosing my nicest outfit when it’s Friday for civilian day.

Dancing on the stage

Only in High School when I danced onstage. I wasn’t really good at dancing, I wasn’t graceful enough, my sister told me that my body cannot move the way I want it to. But, for some reason, I was part of the dancing club. Did I know somebody in that group? Kind of…:) Believe me, I wasn’t one of those popular students, aside from I wasn’t smart enough, not rich enough and not pretty enough. But I know one thing for sure, I was friendly enough..

I miss my high school days, with my high school friends. I hope someday I can go home and meet with all of them, although I know that it’s close to impossible, but who knows.. You can never tell..

I planned on giving my friend a Welcome to the United States party next weekend and I am getting excited about it. My friends around are coming and bringing some food, they also want to meet my friend Cristy. We do this welcome thing so that when our friends come here, they feel welcome and more at home. Leaving their family and friends behind is hard enough, so we make sure that during their first few months of being here, they won’t feel home sick. I do know that being around new friends is not going to compare being home sick, but I know it would help a bit. We are talking about what to give her on her party, and I found this website that specializes on personalized girlfriend gifts. I can have her present personalized, that way she knows that she might be away from her family, but she has a friend close by.

I have seen the Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse movies and I will never miss this one. Although it’s so disappointing that they made it into 2 parts, it’s OK for me, since I have read the book and heard the CDs, I am not going to get frustrated when I see the movie on the 18th. Oppsss. I will take that back, I can’t watch the movie on the 18th (the first day..) because I will wait for the girls to be here on the 19th or the 20th. We had watched the New Moon and Eclipse together, so it’s some kind of Girls night out or something.

I can’t wait, I am so excited..I know that it will be a great movie and I will try not to remember all the scenes in the book so I can concentrate better. The Eclipse turned out really good, and I am hoping that this will be the same..15 more days……See you in the movie theater folks…
